Operation Method
1. Associating Files
In order to use MMV64, different file types must first be associated with the appropriate converter and N64 program. File types are associated based on their file extension.
Click the button to open the "File Setting" window.
The functions of the buttons in the window are described below:
- New button: Specifies a new extension.
- Refresh button: Refreshes the settings to the current state.
- Delete button: Deletes the selected extension.
- Default button: Returns the settings to their defaults.
- Copy button: Stores the various settings for the selected extension.
- Paste button: Pastes the various settings for the extension that was stored with Copy.
- Use converter: This section of the window is described in 4. Converter.
- Target program: Used to specify the filename, including the full pathname, of the N64 program to be associated.
- Data address: Used to specify the ROM address to which data will be transferred.
Note: If the file specified under "Target program" is in a sub-directory of the directory MMV64.exe is in, the pathname will be changed to the relative pathname as in the example in the window displayed above.
Do not forget to click the Refresh button when settings have been changed.
2. Specifying the Target
When you are finished setting up file associations, specify the target that will be used.
The following three types of hardware can be selected,
- MONEGI Smart Pack A,B,C,
- Partner-N64, and
- IS-Viewer64,
and up to two IS-Viewer64s can be used.
When using MONEGI Smart Pack A,B,C or Partner-N64, the following hardware settings are required.
Click the button to open the "Target Setting" window.
- Select A, B, or C when using a MONEGI Smart Pack.
- Specify the folder in which Partner is installed when using Partner-N64.
Click one of the following buttons to select a target.
Selects MONEGI Smart Pack A,B,C.
Selects Partner-N64.
Selects the first IS-Viewer64.
Selects the second second IS-Viewer64.Hardware that cannot be used will be displayed in grey. Only one piece of hardware can be selected at a time.
3. Running MMV64
Once you have set up file associations and specified the target, you can run MMV64. You can run the file that you want to play back on the N64 simply by dragging it from the Explorer and dropping it in the main MMV64 window shown below.
You may also run the file by selecting the file then clicking the RUN button .
4. Resetting the N64
Click this button to reset the N64.
5. Stopping the N64
Click this button to stop the N64 without resetting it.
