n_alSndpNew

Syntax

void n_alSndpNew(N_ALSndPlayer *sndp, ALSndpConfig *config);

Arguments

  • sndp is the pointer to the sound player structure that you want to initialize (register); note that to optimize performance, n_audio allows only one sound player to be registered at any one time.
  • config is the pointer to the sound player configuration structure

Explanation
This function is available in the n_audio library. It initializes (registers) the specified sound player for the configuration specified by the config argument and signs into the synthesis driver as a client. Note that it allocates memory from the (initialized) ALHeap referenced by the config structure.

The values in the following data elements of the ALSndpConfig structure determine how much memory is allocated:

  • maxSounds is the maximum number of sounds that can be allocated to the player.
  • maxEvents is the maximum number of internal events to support.
  • heap is a pointer to an initialized audio heap.
