calcncc

Syntax
calcncc
calcncc [master file name]

Explanation
It calculates the NCC (Nintendo Check Code) from the N64 Disk Drive master data file. NCC is a six-digit decimal code used to verify that the data has been received correctly when the master data is presented. NCC is calculated in separate regions of ROM and RAM.

The calcncc [master file name] form of the command calculates the NCC for the specified file. If no file name is specified, it calculates the NCC for master.d64 (the file name of the master data file created by n64mdisk). The calcncc tool checks whether the specified master data file (or master.d64 if there is no specified file) is a proper master data file. If it isn't a proper master file, the tool displays the following message and terminates:

******** This is not master data!! **********
Moreover, when the extension of the file is not .d64 the following confirmation is requested:
** This file name does not end with .d64,
so it may not be master data OK? (y/n) [y]
If you want to use the specified file, input "y" or "Y" or press the Enter key. If you press any other key, the tool terminates without doing anything.
