int memcmp (const void *bufl, const void *buf2, size_t count)


Arguments
  • buf1 is the pointer to the buffer to be compared to buf2
  • buf2 is the pointer to the buffer to be compared to buf1
  • count is the number of bytes to compare
Return Value
A value less than, equal to, or greater than zero depending on whether the content of buf1 is lexicographically less than, equal to, or greater than the content of buf2

What This Function Does
It compares the content of the buf1 buffer with the content of the buf2 buffer for the number of bytes specified by count, and returns a value less than, equal to, or greater than zero depending on whether the content of buf1 is lexicographically less than, equal to, or greater than the content of buf2.
