stopthread

Format
stopthread thread

What This Tool Does
It halts a target system thread. Specifically, it sends a message requesting a halt of the specified thread running on the target system by using the dbgif tool, and then displays the thread status on stdout.

Before executing this command, ensure that the dbgif program is running and that the METHOD environment variable is set to indicate whether this is a request for the R4300 CPU or the reality co-processor (RCP). The value zero represents the CPU and the number one represents the RCP. In csh, this is accomplished by specifying:
setenv METHOD 0
Bugs
In the event of a communications failure, the program dumps core. If this occurs, you must remove the core file manually.

If gvd is running, it will be surprised by the unexpected stop of the thread and will probably try to restart it.
